The cut flower industry is a
multi billion dollar a year business.
There's no reason you coulden't be getting some of
that money.
Take a few minutes to look around my pages. You will see how easy it would be to start your own business growing cut flowers.
I read somewhere, that every three hours
a 35 ton cargo plane leaves Columbia packed with cut
flowers
going somewhere in the world.Add in all the other countries that are
shipping cut flowers and the
wholesalers that are supplying
your local florists with cut flowers, you woulden't think
there
would be room for you to make money.
But there is.
The new price list is posted every Monday.
When you check out the prices
of bulbs and flower seeds.
You'll
see that you
can make a nice profit.
Also the flowers and bulbs that are perennial in
your area
makes it even better, it's like getting
free flowers to sell
the next year.
Your selling point to the florist is that the flowers are grown locally and will be cut fresh when they call. With all the talk about going green these days, you can also point out that the won't be covered in pesticides so the can make it through customs to get into the country. They also won't be full of chemicals to make them last long enough to make the journey here and still last long enough for the florist to be able to sell them.
The big farms that supply the
wholesalers have to grow what the average florist will need.
You have the advantage that your small enough to
grow some
local or specialty flowers that the
florist in your
area may like, as well as the same ones they get from the
wholesaler.
The florist has to try and judge how
many
flowers they may need to last them between the days
the
wholesaler comes.
Thats where you come in. If the florist knows you
can supply
flowers they can't get for a few
more days from their wholesaler. They can sell
more
arangements and both of you can make
some money.
Have a look around my pages. Plant a few test beds of flowers. Take them around to your local florist and see which one's will give you a chance
It's up to you now ..... Just grow it
